BRIDGEWATER, Nova Scotia – The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team will open play here today in the 2022 Para Hockey Cup against Czechia in its first of three preliminary round games. Opening faceoff is set for 10 a.m. ET and a live stream of the game can be found here prior to puck drop.
The four-team Para Hockey Cup also includes host Canada, along with Italy.
The U.S. roster features 14 players who helped the U.S. to a fourth straight Paralympic gold medal in 2022, including Travis Dodson (Deming, N.M.), David Eustace (Stoneham, Mass.), Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) Noah Grove (Frederick, Md.), Malik Jones (Aurora, Colo.), Griffin LaMarre (Haverhill, Mass.), Jen Lee (San Francisco, Calif.), Kevin McKee (Davenport, Iowa), Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.), Evan Nichols (Haymarket, Va.), Josh Pauls (Green Brook, N.J.), Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.), Jack Wallace (Franklin Lakes, N.J.), and Joseph Woodke (Nashville, Tenn.).
The U.S. enters the tournament looking to capture its seventh consecutive Para Hockey Cup title, and ninth PHC championship overall. The event last took place in 2019 in St. John’s and Paradise, Newfoundland.
The U.S. is 2-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) all-time against Czechia in the Para Hockey Cup, with the most recent matchup being the 2019 semifinal game. Three points apiece from Noah Grove, Kevin McKee, Brody Roybal, and Jack Wallace helped the team USA advance to its ninth-straight championship appearance at the Para Hockey Cup with an 8-0 victory.
