MINOT, N.D. – The U.S. National Sled Hockey Team earned a 4-1 victory and the U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team skated to a 7-0 win here today at MAYSA Arena in the second games of the 2024 Sled Series.
Both teams will face off in the third and final game of their series against Canada tomorrow (March 16). The U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team drop the puck at 12:30 p.m. CT, while the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team drop the puck at 3:30 p.m. CT. U.S. National Sled Hockey Team 4, Canada 1
Declan Farmer (Tampa, Fla.) tallied three points (1g, 2a), while Brody Roybal (Northlake, Ill.) recorded a goal and an assist to help the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team to a 4-1 victory over Canada in game two of the 2024 Sled Series at MAYSA Arena.
“I thought it was a great environment, and it was a lot of fun,” said David Hoff (Bottineau, N.D.), head coach of the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team. “We faced a little adversity in the second where every shift mattered, but overall a good effort and great atmosphere to play in.”
At the 8:27 mark of the opening frame, Malik Jones (Aurora, Colo.) found Farmer on a two-on-one, who batted home a one-timer from the slot to put the U.S. out ahead.
The U.S. went up 2-0 early in the middle frame when Farmer toe dragged past a Canadian defender then found Josh Misiewicz (La Grange, Ill.) across the crease, who finished with a backdoor tap in.
At the 4:24 mark of the second, Canada’s Tyler McGregor scored power play goal to cut the lead to 2-1.

With 5:31 to go in the middle stanza, Josh Pauls (Green Brook, N.J.) dished across the blue line to Noah Grove (Fredrick, Md.), who wristed home a shot from the top of the right circle to give Team USA a 3-1 advantage.
At the mid-point of the third period, goaltender Griffin LaMarre (Haverhill, Mass.) made a diving save on a breakaway chance for Canada to preserve the two-goal lead.
Roybal added to the tally with 5:36 remaining in the contest, rifling a one-timer off a feed from Farmer on the power play to go up 4-1.
NOTES: Team USA was 2-4 on the power play, while Canada was 1-3 … The U.S. outshot Canada 24-11.
U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team 7, Canada 0
Kelsey DiClaudio (Plum, Pa.) tallied a hat trick and an assist, while Catherine Faherty (Norwell, Mass.), and Erica McKee (Chicago, Ill.) each scored twice to help the U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team earn a 7-0 victory over Canada here today in game two of the 2024 Sled Series at MAYSA Arena.
“That was a great second game, we knew it was going to be physical going in,” said Rose Misiewicz (Duluth, Minn.), head coach of the U.S. Women’s Development Sled Hockey Team. “The ladies came out with just as much intensity and did a great job keeping their heads and getting the job done.”
DiClaudio opened the scoring just 33 seconds into the contest when she gathered a pass from Kayden Herchenroether (Allison Park, Pa.) and weaved past a defender before finishing with a top-shelf rocket.
At the 4:21 mark, Faherty forced a turnover in the slot and stickhandled past a Canadian defender before capitalizing to put the U.S. up 2-0.

McKee added to the tally 20 seconds later, batting home a rebound from DiClaudio on the doorstep. She picked up her second goal of the game at the 7:14 mark when she found the top right corner with a wrist shot after winning an offensive zone faceoff.
Faherty extended the U.S. lead to 5-0 with 2:10 remaining in the first, skating past a defender before scoring with a laser into the top left corner.
After a scoreless middle stanza, DiClaudio added her second tally of the contest 3:39 into the third to give Team USA a 6-0 lead. McKee picked up an assist on the play.
DiClaudio completed a hat trick with 9:07 to go, knocking home a feed from Chloe Kirkpatrick (Bemidji, Minn.) to put the U.S. up 7-0.
NOTES: Team USA was 0-2 on the power play, while Canada was 0-3 … The U.S. outshot Canada 29-2.
