2024 U.S. Women’s National Team Roster Announced

25 Players Set to Represent U.S at IIHF Women’s World Championship in Utica, April 3-14

 LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – USA Hockey named the 25 players set to represent the U.S. at the 2024 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship in Utica, N.Y., from April 3-14.

A total of 18 players return to the ice for Team USA from the gold medal-winning 2023 U.S. Women’s National Team, including Cayla Barnes (Eastvale, Calif.), Hannah Bilka (Coppell, Texas), Alex Carpenter (North Reading, Mass.), Britta Curl (Bismarck, N.D.), Lacey Eden(Annapolis, Md.), Aerin Frankel (Chappaqua, N.Y.), Rory Guilday (Minnetonka, Minn.), Savannah Harmon (Downers Grove, Ill.), Caroline Harvey (Salem, N.H.), Taylor Heise (Lake City, Minn.), Nicole Hensley (Lakewood, Colo.), Tessa Janecke (Orangeville, Ill.), Megan Keller (Farmington Hills, Mich.), Hilary Knight (Sun Valley, Idaho), Abbey Murphy (Evergreen Park, Ill.), Kelly Pannek (Plymouth, Minn.), Hayley Scamurra (Getzville, N.Y.) and Haley Winn (Rochester, N.Y.).

The roster also features three-time Olympian Kendall Coyne Schofield (Palos Heights, Ill.) who returns to the U.S. Women’s National Team following maternity leave and Grace Zumwinkle(Excelsior, Minn.) both of whom were members of the 2022 U.S. Olympic Women’s Hockey Team. 

Newcomers Joy Dunne (O’Fallon, Mo.), Laila Edwards (Cleveland Heights, Ohio), Sydney Morrow (Dairen, Conn.), Gwyneth Philips (Athens, Ohio) and Kirsten Simms (Plymouth, Mich.) will be making their debuts at an IIHF event. Edwards and Simms most recently participated in the 2023-24 Rivalry Series, while Dunne, Morrow and Philips were members of the 2023 U.S. Collegiate Select Team. 

“The depth and talent of our player pool was on display this week at our evaluation camp,” said Katie Million (Hannibal, N.Y.), general manager of the 2024 U.S. Women’s National Team and also the director of women’s national team programs for USA Hockey. “We’re excited for the 25 players that will take the ice in Utica.” 

“The team we’ve selected brings pedigree and excitement to the ice,” said John Wroblewski (Neenah, Wis.), head coach of the 2024 U.S. Women’s National Team. “We’re confident in this group and are excited to compete for gold on home soil.”

FULL U.S. WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM STAFF ANNOUNCED 

USA Hockey also announced the full staff for the 2024 U.S. Women’s National Team, including general manager Katie Million (Hannibal, N.Y.), head coach John Wroblewski (Neenah, Wis.), assistant coaches Josh Sciba (Westland, Mich.), Shari Dickerman (Richmond, Minn.), Brent Hill (Hamden, Conn.) and goaltending coach Alli Altmann (Eagan, Minn.). 

The staff also includes player development coach Ellen Hughes, head scout Haley Skarupa (Rockville, Md.), hockey operations Nick Bryant (Livonia, Mich.), video coach Melissa Piacentini (Weymouth, Mass.), team services Emily Ach (Brooklyn Center, Minn.), team physician Dr. Jamie Schlueter (Portland, Ore.), athletic trainers Katie Homan (Coldwater, Ohio) and Amanda Kelly, sports dietician Kaela Colvard (Hugo, Minn.), massage therapist Jennifer Chee (Colorado Springs, Colo.), strength and conditioning coaches Cal Dietz (Hudson, Wis.), equipment managers Sis Paulsen (Eau Claire, Wis.) and Jeff Mobley (St. Louis, Mo.), communications manager Melissa Katz (South Brunswick, N.J.) and content coordinator Bri Rhone.
