UTICA, N.Y. – The U.S. Women’s National Team looks to remain undefeated in preliminary round play at the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship today, with a game against Finland.

TONIGHT'S MATCH UP
Tonight's game marks Team USA's third preliminary round game at the 2024 IIHF Women's World Championship. The game is the second of back-to-back games for the U.S. Team USA sits atop group A with a 2-0-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L) after shutting out both Switzerland and Czechia to start the tournament.
AGAINST FINLAND
Tonight's game is the 23rd all-time meeting between the United States and Finland at the Women's World Championship. The U.S. holds a 19-1-1-0-1 (W-OTW-OTL-L-T) against the Fins, and have won the last 12-straight game against Finland.
LAST TIME AGAINST FINLAND
The U.S. and Czechia last met in the second preliminary round game at the 2022 Women's World Championship in Denmark, with the U.S. topping Finland, 6-1. Amanda Kessel recorded two goals and two assists in the victory.
BACK-TO-BACK SHUTOUTS
For the first time since 2021, Team USA has held its opponents scoreless through the first two games of the tournament. The U.S. has yielded no goals on 30 total shots.

Through two games, Team USA has won 75 percent of its faceoffs, winning 88 percent against Switzerland and 60 percent against Czechia.
