USA Opens the 2016 Women's World Championship against Canada Monday at 7:30 PM local time

Life on the road is not always easy for Team USA. Behind the scenes, there are many people making sure things function smoothly and that the players are well prepared and have everything they need as they head into a tournament.

That being said, even the players pitch in and contribute to helping the trainers and staff get from one place to the next in an efficient manner. No task is too small and the players eagerly contribute to whatever is needed, including lugging their bags and loading things on the bus and equipment truck.

This past Friday, the team broke camp in Everett, Washington and headed to Kamloops, British Columbia for the IHF Women’s World Championship.

Everyone involved with the team is used to the travel and the players have their routines but it’s always fun to see the bonding that takes place as the group comes together. During the journey, you may see players engaged in a card game, crossword puzzle, movies or college assignment, interspersed with a nap or video work with the coaching staff. Not to mention a team meal midway through the nearly 6-hour trip at a pre-planned location.

By the time the team hit the ice for it’s first practice in Kamloops, everything was unloaded and in place as the group settled in and prepares to compete over the week ahead.
