The 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games will take place from February 3-20, 2022 in Beijing, China. On March 31, it was announced that Stan Bowman will serve as General Manager and Bill Guerin will serve as Assistant General Manager.
Mike Sullivan will serve as the head coach of the 2022 team while John Hynes, David Quinn, Todd Reirden and Ryan Miller will serve as assistants.
Most recently, the U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team finished in seventh place among 12 teams competing at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games between February 14-25, 2018.
Team USA opened the preliminary round with a 3-2 OT loss to Slovenia before topping Slovakia 2-1 and falling to the Olympic Athletes from Russia, 4-0. The U.S. defeated Slovakia again, 5-1, in the preliminary round and closed the competition with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals.
Tony Granato served as head coach of Team USA in 2018. Granato was joined by assistant coaches Keith Allain, Chris Chelios, Ron Rolston and Scott Young. In addition, Jim Johannson, who passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 21, 2018, was the team’s general manager, and Ben Smith served as director of player personnel.
