The United States National University Teams begin play at the Winter World University Games Friday (Feb. 28) in Krasnoyark, Russia, when the women's team faces Japan at 12:30 a.m. ET and the men's squad takes on the Czech Republic at 4 a.m. ET.
The Winter World University Games is a bi-annual tournament composed of players that compete in the American Collegiate Hockey Association and National Collegiate Athletic Association.
The tournament runs through March 12 and both the men's and women's teams will play in five preliminary round contests in hopes of earning a berth in the semifinals.
The 2019 tournament will mark the 10th consecutive time Team USA's men's team has played at the Winter World University Games while the women's team will be competing for the fifth consecutive time.

Serving as head coaches are Roger Grillo (North Kingstown, R.I.), who will lead the men's team, and Shelley Looney (Buffalo, N.Y.), who will oversee the women's team. Grillo is a regional manager of the American Development Model for USA Hockey, while Looney is a two-time U.S. Olympian (1998, gold; 2002, silver) and is serving as head coach for the second consecutive tournament ...
