COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Hockey announced today that all Team USA games of the 2018 IIHF Men's World Championship will be televised live on NHL Network, the exclusive U.S. rightsholder for the tournament.
The 2018 IIHF Men's World Championship is set for May 4-20 in Copenhagen and Herning, Denmark. Team USA is in Group B with Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Norway and South Korea, and will play its preliminary round games at Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning, Denmark. Group A, which includes Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, France, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland, will contest its preliminary round games at Royal Arena in Copenhagen.
Of the 64 total games in the tournament, NHL Network will televise 40 games, 34 of which will be live, including both semifinal games as well as the bronze and gold medal games. NHL Network will also provide comprehensive advance coverage of the tournament with NHL Tonight: 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Preview Show on Thursday, May 3, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
The complete U.S. TV schedule for the IIHF Men’s World Championship is available here. Team USA begins play on May 4 against rival Canada. Opening faceoff is set for 4:15 p.m. local time (10:00 a.m. ET) with NHL Network coverage beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET.
